Drown In Your Past

In the dark hall of your thoughts
It creeps upon you without regret.
Regrets are spawned,
Ruthless at best.
Mercy finds no home,
All your pains, here are born.
Born are the sorrows,
Cascading upon your ‘morrow.
Where you seek your solace,
None are found,
You wither; you drown.
Your fear and pain swallows you whole.
You are someone you know no more.

Deceitful Hope

I am panicking. How much longer can I do this?
How much more can I handle?
I don’t want to handle it any longer.
I loathe biting my tongue in fear of appraisal.
I hate knowing Life is just a minefield;
Trying to bury me in its immoral ways;
I am in a never-ending battle.
Destined to Lose.
Why do I continue to fight?
Is it insanity? Stupidity? Maybe.
Or maybe, it’s hope, a deception that entertains the soul.
A nasty little trick, causing us to believe there is a chance to succeed.
But no, hope is just that- figment of my imagination.
Hope is to be renamed, I will call it Bogus.

Loves Tightrope

How much is to be said?
When these feelings are
Dead.
The love had been true,
And now I’m just blue.
Cold rushes over my
Spine.
I feel my hearts decline.
My heart is on the
Ledge.
Mercilessly you push it
Over the edge.
You made me crawl,
You stole my hope.
You watched me fall.
My loves tightrope,
My emotions grope.
You backed away,
Alone I fall, alone I stay.

My Foolish Heart

Love comes and names me Foolish.
It leaves mocking my plight.
If I only looked deeper, the truth would have been known.
I would have been stronger when his hatred had grown.
At the words so harsh, my tears burned their path.
And all I was left with is heavy wrath.
My jaw was pained from teeth clenched tight.
To hold in the words, I knew I must fight.
My hands in fists, my palms throbbed in their plea;
As my nails dug in so fiercely.
My thoughts in a flurry,
I walked away from him numbly.

Less is More.

Do, do, do, I
Give, give, give.
And you take ,
Take, take,
You can but,
Remember this:
The more I give,
The more you take,
The more you take,
The more you want.
The more you want,
The more I hate.
The more I hate,
The less I give,
The less I give,
The less you love,
The less you love-
I’m done.

Normal Poems... Empty Strengths Test

Post  Greenify13 Tue Mar 03, 2009 4:40 pm

Let your emotions rest,
They are your strengths test.
When times fly hard and fast,
You can find yourself aghast.

While you might think you’re strong,
Sometimes we can be deadly wrong.
Too much pressure we allow,
In heart and head to dwell.

The stresses of life can overwhelm.
We need to take them by the helm.
Control is a necessary ideal,
If we want our existence to be worthwhile.

As you walk down the paths of life,
Stress and chaos is present and rife.
We are not alone, in our many doubts
We need our rest, vital timeouts.

When we allow things to the extreme,
We lose our hopes, we lose our esteem.
The precious values we hold dear,
Is taken hostage by our fear, our stress.

We are not meant to be lonely creatures,
We are meant to share life’s splendors.
The paths we walk, we walk together
The pain we feel, the pain we share,
Can only make us stronger.

Wipe away those tears,
Push away and confront your fears,
We stand together, against our
Our shared paths can only win life’s contest.

Let your emotions rest,
They are your strengths test.
When times fly hard and fast,
You can find yourself aghast.

Normal Poems... Empty Good Commanders

Post  Greenify13 Tue Mar 03, 2009 4:43 pm

Good commanders should observe,
So that the livelihood they can preserve.
To fail their duties should be a crime,
Their people should never feel its grime.

Good times should be aplenty.
But things are not always so chummy.
To war some leaders must go,
Bravery they must always show.

When times are rough at best,
They confront their lives hardest quest.
While some may fail to try,
They protect their people, and some die.

To accept defeat they will not do,
To do it would be untrue.
The greatest conquests of their time,
Are not always the ones of their prime.

While some would like to say they tried,
And mock the foes, which at swords died.
Others never will forget,
But to protect their people, they will not
Regret.

To sing their names in memory,
They do not ask for this in victory.
To continue on, through good and bad,
And always protect your comrade.

To stab your people in the back,
Would be dealt with as treacherous attack.
When thoughts of this cross your mind,
Remember it is best to be kind.

To be a good commander one must observe.
To be a wise commander one must know.
The nations honor we must preserve.
And to be the best nation, it must grow.

Normal Poems... Empty With the Moon, Mystical

Post  Greenify13 Tue Mar 03, 2009 4:44 pm

When I sat on the moon,
To time I'd been immune.
Lost in my thoughts, the
Stars becoming my nightspots.

The happiness and laughter there,
Could make Earth feel drab and bare.
Of loneliness and sorrow beware.
Not much good comes from there.

While there I was mystical,
And had no need to be fearful.
I danced with the stars,
And spoke with the moon.
The night was always ours.

The moon it yawned,
The sun and morning dawned.
I bid farewell, and down I fell.
I awaken to the bed sheets soft,
I awaken to my lonely loft.

Many sorrows here I know,
For my soul, my tears would flow.
Bitter knowledge of where I am,
Life down here is a sham.

When I go back I will rejoice,
That there I have a voice.
I will take in the joy, take in it all,
I will not be afraid of the destined
Fall.

Normal Poems... Empty Yadiyadiyah!

Post  Greenify13 Tue Mar 03, 2009 4:51 pm

Blah Blah Blah yadiyadiyah.
You guys are gaining chutzpah.
Try and find all of the schwa (s).
Let's get on a ricksha,
And go to the casbah.
My grandpa was a Choctaw,
My grandma knew the cha-cha.
If you call me a squaw,
I will find my pa, who
Does not abide by the law.
You can find my ma,
In Utah at the bourgeois spa.
The kids are playing on the
Seesaw.
The lonely one on the bench
Has lockjaw.
Listen to the jackdaw, caw.
But you are my cat’s-paw!
As you read with a dropped jaw,
While you sit there in awe.
I will laugh at the one who
"Hoorah's" over colesaw.
Some claim to be in awe,
Over what I write, I would
Rather guffaw,
At the your inane huzzah.
Deja (vu)?
Blah blah blah Yadiyadiyah.

Normal Poems... Empty Poem for Pilot

Post  Greenify13 Tue Mar 03, 2009 4:53 pm

A beautiful person is thee,
That you would write a poem for me.
Kind words and thoughts undulant,
Your poem is quite puissant.

You write your words of me,
You make me feel queenly.
I only intend to inspire all,
Not to fear the fail or fall.

I hope that others will surely try,
It makes you free enough to fly.
To fly above with stars and moon,
To write poetry and not feel jejune.

If all I leave behind is my son,
Rhymes and hope.
I think I would be able to cope.
No treasures needed and no fame,
To inspire courage and freedom is
All I would exclaim.

Normal Poems... Empty A Moons Hope.

Post  Greenify13 Fri Mar 06, 2009 3:32 pm

As we walk through the shadows of yesterday,
We become lost and tomorrow seems so far away.
To stay in the past would be unwise, we must
Continue on clockwise.
When yesterday’s sun sets, we watch the moonrise.
The moon illuminates the path of tomorrow,
We should excuse all of yesterdays sorrow.
Sorrows, pains, and lies; what the moon sees can fright.
Purity and truth and all things right, is the moons hope and delight.
It could speak the wisdom of pasts, and clear the questions too.
The moon has no interest in this, for tomorrow's fresh and new.
While he has no qualms of circumstance pending,
He shines down his hopes for the earthlings.
What would he say if someone asked, "Why would you want to do that?"?
"I sit here forever little one, I watched the sorrows and all the pains,
I watched you fight for what you gain, you look to the past and
There you stay,
I want you to know the beauty of a new day,
With it can come such promise, such hope.
Yet in the past, you continue to mope."
"Why would you say such things? We carry on each day!"
"You carry on but here your thoughts stay in the past day.
You are walking the memory paths of the past,
What you don't see leaves me aghast!
You are blind to the consequences and joys of today,
I could tell you that right now is a beautiful new day,
You have already lost time so precious and true,
I will teach you what I think you need, tomorrow can
Bring such value.
Put aside your remorse and disdain, put them away and
Experience all that you can gain."
The moon and the man spoke for a while longer,
They spoke of all one can miss, they spoke of pains
And sorrows during their amiable chatter.
When they talked of joys and pleasures to come,
The man understood what the moon said was wisdom.
Soon he awoke with a start, he was in his bed but not in the dark.
The future's potential and wisdom's path he will forever embark.
The moon watched glad, as he bowed down and waited;
As he moved on, he knew she came with beauty greeted.

Normal Poems... Empty Re: Normal Poems...

Post  Pilot Sat Mar 07, 2009 1:22 am

Well, I finally got to read your work, Christine, and I'm glad I did. Now I am able to understand you and some of the things you've said so much more clearly. Having read these works, I stand by my opinion that your work is definitely worth presenting to the public. Now let me tell you why I'm of that opinion.

Each of your poems elicited emotion from me. Those emotions pretty well ran the gamut, too. In some, you brought out the protective father in me. "Hurt my little girl and I'll rip your heart out" kind of thing. In another, the father wanted to hold his girl close, to shield her from harm. Another brought a gentle smile at the depth of feelings you display. ALL brought some emotion, and that's the true measure of any written work's worth. I think you must have an idea of the suppression of emotions that a battlefield commander must attain, just to keep his sanity. Then after a while, it becomes your nature to suppress. Such has been my state for many years, so again you presented me with that breath of fresh air I mentioned once before.

Never let it be said that you don't possess talent, because that is untrue. Now you must stay true to that talent. Keep on writing, little one. You're doin' just fine.

Normal Poems... Empty Re: Normal Poems...

Post  Greenify13 Sat Mar 07, 2009 4:52 pm

I am uncertain if I have proper words to express my feelings, in this matter. I thank you for ALL your kind words and encouragement, you and a few others have made me finally see "the light at the end of the tunnel". I must say that in the past I was extremely harsh against my poetry and I degraded it like a bad hobby. I hope that now and in the future I will be able to put said feelings away. Lock them up in some closet, in a shadowy corner of the past. I have found that inspiration can come from any one or anything. Even myself, of course. My poetry has been said to bring emotion out of people, or even make them think. For this I am glad that I can bring forth such sensations or set such an atmosphere...Well I have rambled on, and the basic points are:
Thank you Pilot (and others as well, who most likely know who they are Very Happy)
I will continue to write. Which I think cheers many, who have traveled this road with me.
You have all encouraged me, and I will continue to pursue this without much degradation.

Thank you ....(how many times have I said that? alien)

Christine

Post  Greenify13 Mon Jun 22, 2009 11:24 am

Skeleton in the cupboard,
My secret hidden by my bulwark,
Forever will be harbored.
None will learn of my death-mark.

This scar on my soul,
The confession I hold.
This sin is my toll,
A ticket for my personal hellhole.

I’ll carry the brunt, ‘til the day I die.
When my life is no more,
This confession I cry.
I willingly pay for my score.

Normal Poems... Empty Quintessence

Post  Greenify13 Mon Jun 22, 2009 11:28 am

The heart of my poetry.
Purest form of me,
What would you miss,
If you look to know
And not to see?

I hold my soul just out of view,
How do you truly know?
When all I show can be untrue.

My poetry is my halo,
The purest thing,
I’ve yet to know.
Why hide my words beneath
A mask?
When all my life is still just that.
